The Foo Fighters are an American rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the death of Kurt Cobain and the resulting dissolution of his previous band. The group got its name from theUFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters. Prior to the release of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut album Foo Fighters, which featured Grohl as the only official member, Grohl recruited bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith, both formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate, as well as fellow Nirvana touring bandmate Pat Smear as guitarist to complete the lineup. The band began with performances in Portland, Oregon. Goldsmith quit during the recording of the group's second album, The Colour and the Shape (1997) when most of the drum parts were re-recorded by Grohl himself. Smear's departure followed soon afterward.

They were replaced by Taylor Hawkins and Franz Stahl, respectively, although Stahl was fired before the recording of the group's third album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose (1999). The band briefly continued as a trio until Chris Shiflett joined as the band's lead guitarist after the completion of There Is Nothing Left to Lose. The band released its fourth album, One by One, in 2002. The group followed that release with the two-disc In Your Honor (2005), which was split between acoustic songs and heavier material. Foo Fighters released its sixth album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, in 2007. In 2010, it was confirmed that Smear had officially rejoined the band after touring with Foo Fighters as an unofficial member between 2006 and 2009. Over the course of the band's career, four of its albums have won 11 Grammy Awards winning Best Rock Album four times. The band's seventh studio album,Wasting Light, was released in 2011.

System of a Down

System of a Down, also known by the acronym SOAD and often shortened to System, is an Armenian American rock band from Southern California, formed in 1994. It currently consists of Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Shavo Odadjian (bass, background vocals) and John Dolmayan (drums).

The band achieved commercial success with the release of five studio albums; from which three debuted at number one on theBillboard 200. System of a Down has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, and won the award in 2006 for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "B.Y.O.B.". The group went on hiatus in August 2006, but reunited in November 2010, embarking on a worldwide tour in 2011 and 2012.

Chris Joannou will be taking part in Rock 'N' Ride, riding his motorbike from the Big Day Out at the Gold Coast to the Adelaide Big Day Out, a race through 4 states over 5 gruelling days all in the name of raising awareness for headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation.

Audioslave

Audioslave was an American rock supergroup formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2001 and disbanded in 2007. The four-piece band consisted of then-former Soundgarden lead singer/rhythm guitarist, Chris Cornell, and then-former Rage Against the Machine members, Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass/backing vocals), and Brad Wilk (drums). Critics initially described Audioslave as an amalgamation of Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine, but by the band's second album, Out of Exile, it was noted that they had established a separate identity.^[1]

Audioslave's trademark sound was created by blending 1970s hard rock with 1990s alternative rock. Moreover, Morello incorporated his well-known, unconventional guitar solos into the mix. As with Rage Against the Machine, the band prided themselves on the fact that all sounds on their albums were produced using only guitar, bass, drums, and vocals

Dream Theater

Dream Theater adalah salah satu grup progressive metal paling terkemuka di dunia saat ini. Terbentuk pertama kali pada tahun 1985 dengan namaMajesty. Didirikan oleh Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci dan John Myung, mereka telah merilis delapan album studio, empat rekaman live dan satu album pendek (EP). Album pertama mereka, When Dream And Day Unite direkam dengan Charlie Dominici sebagai vokalis dan Kevin Mooresebagai pemain keyboards. Ayah Matt, George Bellamy adalah gitaris rhythm band The Tornados yang menjadi band Inggris pertama yang berhasil di posisi pertama Billboard Hot 100 dengan single Telstar.^[1] Knights of Cydonia, single dari Muse di album keempat Black Holes & Revelationsmerupakan tribut untuk lagu Telstar. Ibu Matt, Marilyn lahir di Belfast dan pindah ke Inggris pada tahun 1970an. Pada hari pertamanya di Inggris ia bertemu dengan George, yang pada saat itu bekerja sebagai sopir taksi di London. Mereka kemudian pindah ke Cambridge, di mana kakak Matthew, Paul lahir, diikuti beberapa tahun kemudian Matthew lahir.

Linkin Park

Linkin Park adalah grup musik beraliran nu metal dan rock alternatif yang berasal dari Agoura Hills, California, di Amerika Serikat. Mereka sempat beberapa kali berganti nama, antara lain Xero, Hybrid Theory, hingga nama Linkin Park sampai sekarang. Nama "Linkin Park" sendiri merupakan plesetan dari nama sebuah taman di Los Angeles, Lincoln Park.

Sebelum Chester Bennington menjadi vokalis Linkin Park, Mark Wakefield lebih dulu menjadi vokalisnya. Namun, ia keluar dari Linkin Park untuk mencari proyek lain (menjadi manajer grup band Taproot)– saat itu menggunakan nama Hybrid Theory – untuk menjadi manajer grup musik Taproot. Bassis Dave Farrell alias "Phoenix" juga pernah keluar sebentar dari Linkin Park untuk mengikuti tur bersama band lamanya, Tasty Snax. Sedangkan 4 personel lainnya – Brad Delson, Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, dan Rob Bourdon – selalu bertahan di Linkin Park sejak awal pembentukannya.

FABIAN JANUARIUS KUWADOGubernur DKI Jakarta, Joko Widodo sempat menunjukan kaos berwarna hitam bergambar tengkorak, lambang dari grup band Guns N Roses sebelum bertolak menonton konser grup band tersebut, Minggu (16/12/2012) di MEIS, Ancol.

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Grup Musik Guns N' Roses melakukan konser tanpa basa-basi ketika tampil di MEIS Ancol Jakarta, Minggu siang.

Vokalis Axl Rose, bahkan tidak menyapa para penonton yang telah memenuhi Gedung Meis Ancol di kesempatan lagu pertama. Dia malahan langsung menyuguhkan salah satu lagu populer mereka "Chinese Democracy".

Setelah itu, band asal Amerika tersebut juga semakin mengguncang penonton dengan lagu "Welcome To The Jungle". Suara tinggi Axl langsung dipertunjukkan pada lagu tersebut. 

Sontak para penonton kegirangan dan berlompat-lompatan mengikuti irama. Mereka semua bernyanyi bersama-sama dengan sang vokalis yang menggunakan jaket kulit dan celana jins sobek-sobek sore itu.

"Hello how are you doing?" kata Axl baru ketika pertengahan konser."Good Afternoon," tambahnya.

Konser Guns N' Roses menghabiskan waktu tiga jam. Mereka membawakan 20 lagu lebih dari seluruh album.
